NICK SCHULTZ
FOR STATE ASSEMBLY, 44TH DISTRICT
Nick Schultz was elected to serve the 44th District in the California State Assembly in November 2024, where he currently serves as the Chair of the Assembly Public Safety Committee.
Previously, he served on the Burbank City Council as a Mayor and Councilmember. On the Council, he was instrumental in policies that increased economic opportunity, reduced crime, expanded environmental protections, and expanded affordable housing.
Nick has spent his entire professional career in public service. Prior to being elected to the Legislature, he served as a Deputy Attorney General with the Special Prosecutions Section of the Attorney General’s Office with the California Department of Justice, where he worked with local, state, and federal law enforcement officials to investigate and prosecute criminal cases primarily related to public corruption, officer involved shootings, human trafficking, mortgage fraud, tax evasion, and other forms of financial fraud.
Nick lives in Burbank with his wife Allie, their two children, and two cats.

NICK'S POLICY PRIORITIES
Nick personally understands the hardships the average Californians find themselves in every day. He was largely raised by a single mother who worked to give him every available opportunity to succeed; he is the first person in his working-class family to attend and graduate from college.
As a California State Assemblymember, Nick is committed to policies that ensure everyone has a safe community, clean air and water, economic opportunity, and a quality public education.

PROTECTING OUR ENVIRONMENT
Nick believes that every Californian has a fundamental right to clean air, clean water, and to be free from toxic substances.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM
As a Deputy Attorney General, Nick worked on the frontlines combatting abuses and misuses of authority by public officials. He is continuing this work to increase safety and address the inequities at the root causes of crime as the Chair of the Assembly Public Safety Committee.

HOUSING AFFORDABILITY
Nick is working to take strong and decisive action to reduce the costs of housing. He is committed to protecting renters and increasing housing opportunities for all.

ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY
In one of the world's largest economies, Nick believes far too many Californians are left behind. Nick is working to raise wages, address deep poverty, encourage investment in emerging technology, support organized labor, and explore new incentives for entrepreneurship.
